An LPGA Highlight for Fraser – The Women’s US Open at Erin Hills Golf Club, Wisconsin

After sealing the Home Soil Hat-Trick last weekend, Fraser Riddler — along with the Event Caddie cap — is taking a well-earned breather before heading to Ontario, Canada for next week’s Canadian Open. We caught up with him during this short break to reflect on the LPGA season so far, from major championship moments to lion mascots in football shirts.

Major Memories & LPGA Season Highlights

For Fraser, the LPGA Majors are always a thrill. This year brought new stops, including the spectacular Erin Hills and the windswept Royal Porthcawl. But one memory stands out above the rest: “Seeing Emily play with confidence and contend at the Evian Championship was special,” he says.

A Caddie’s Favourite Turf

Erin Hills earns the top spot in Fraser’s personal rankings so far. “It was a tough setup — you had to be strategic on every shot. It was rare you could aim straight at the pin. You were always playing to sections and areas. It made you work very hard as a caddie,” he explains.

Caddie Fraser at the PIF London Championship

Fraser at the PIF London Championship at Centurion Golf Club

Our sponsored caddie Fraser, alongside the Event Caddie cap, has been on an impressive UK tour these last few weeks. He started in his homeland at the Scottish Women’s Open. Then he moved south to Wales for the Women’s Open. Now, he arrives in Hertfordshire, England, ready for the PIF London Championship.

The PIF London Championship tees off this weekend, August 8 to 10, at the picturesque Centurion Club in Hertfordshire. It is the only venue to have hosted the event every year since it began. Now in its fifth consecutive year at Centurion, the tournament is the third stop in the 2025 PIF Global Series. This series is a prestigious part of the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Boasting a $2 million prize purse and featuring both team and individual formats, the event attracts some of the world’s top female golfers. Competitors include Mimi Rhodes, Georgia Hall, and Celine Boutier.  Unfortunately, local favourite Charley Hull has withdrawn due to an ankle injury. However, she will still be present to meet and support fans.

The Centurion Club offers a stunning and strategic 18-hole layout blending woodland, rolling fairways, and dramatic elevation changes. Stretching over 7,000 yards with a par of 72, the course features more than 80 bunkers, multiple water hazards, and fast, undulating greens. Highlights include the scenic par-3 12th hole over water and the risk-reward par-5 18th, which finishes in front of the clubhouse.

Overall, the 2025 PIF London Championship promises three days of high-stakes drama, world-class shot-making, and a spectacular setting. It is one of the must-watch events on the women’s golf calendar.

Pro Caddie Fraser Riddler at the Women’s Open 2025 in Porthcawl

Fraser travels from Scotland to Wales this weekend as the spotlight turns to Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. Notably, the historic course hosts the prestigious Women’s Open for the first time.

Set against the dramatic South Wales coastline, this historic links course offers a formidable test for the world’s best golfers. With that in mind, the sea is visible from every hole, combining stunning scenery with true championship challenge.

Golf course architects Harry Colt and Martin Ebert refined Royal Porthcawl after its original design in 1891. The course challenges even skilled players with fast, undulating greens, deep pot bunkers, and unpredictable coastal winds.  In particular, standout holes include the short, deceptive 8th and the dramatic closing 18th beside the clubhouse. Together, the challenging layout and breath-taking scenery create an unforgettable setting. As a result, the tournament promises world-class golf and a thrilling showcase of talent.

Hot on his heels, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Åberg, and Corey Conners sit three strokes back at 68, poised to strike. While swirling winds and scattered spring showers challenged the field, Rose’s calm command stood out. With legends chasing and the course ready to bite, the tournament heads into round two, and anticipation builds for what promises to be a compelling weekend of championship golf.

What is a handicap and how is it calculated?

Golf is a very popular sport played by approximately over 60 million people across the world. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, you will have come across the term golf handicap, however it can be a bit of a mystery as to what it is for those of us that aren’t professionals. In this blog answer the highly asked questions of what a golf handicap is, how it’s calculated and if you need one.

What is a golf handicap?

A golf handicap is a numerical score that is a measure of a golfer’s ability. Golf handicaps allow for an even playing field in competitions, where all skill levels can compete against each other taking the handicap into consideration to make the scoring fair.

A golf handicap is a representation of how many strokes above or below the course par the golfer is expected to play. A higher score equates to being able to subtract more strokes from the final score to calculate the net score, a lower score demonstrates a more skilled golfer who’d be expected to have a lower net score.

The Evolution of Event Caddie

Event Caddie and Driving Sales have been a key driver in the event management and gifting industry over the past 20 years. Both companies were founded by Neil Williams and directed by Sue Williams. This blog is an insight into Event Caddie’s journey and why we are an established leading supplier in the industry.

A Message from the Founder

‘22 years ago, I had a back operation which meant I had to change my career in retail management. At the time my hobbies were golf and running an online golf directory website called Goinggoinggolf. I started Driving Sales Ltd in 2004, which was originally helping golf courses connect with local businesses through sponsorship. Event Caddie became a trading name supplying the corporate market with embroidered and printed golf gifts and clothing. Starting the business gave me a new direction and helped me with my recovery and my mental health.

I’m passionate about delivering the best customer service, and my experience in retail helps me visualise the company through the website.’ – Neil.
