Supporting Young Talent

Local young talent in golf, Tom Gilbert visits us after St Andrews Boys Open

Local youth talent Tom Gilbert visits us after St Andrews Boys Open

A local talent is making waves on the greens! At just 17 years old, Tom Gilbert recently finished an impressive 9th out of 150 players in the prestigious St Andrews Boys Open, a tournament for under-18s that attracts international competitors.

From the very beginning, golf has been part of his life — he first picked up plastic clubs at the age of 3. Today, his game is inspired by his idol Rory McIlroy, with the trusty 8-iron being his go-to club. When it comes to his favourite course, nothing beats St Andrews, the very place where he showcased his talent.

We were therefore delighted to meet him, hear his story, and let him know we’d be glad to sponsor him along his golfing journey in 2026 at county level and beyond.

With skill, passion, and such early dedication, this young golfer with a handicap of 2 is certainly one to watch. Keep an eye on the fairways—because this rising star is just getting started!

Fraser at the FM Championship in Boston

Our sponsored caddie, Fraser, is on the bag with Emily Pedersen this week at the prestigious FM Championship.  The tournament is taking place at the renowned TPC Boston.

Known for its challenging layout and perfectly sculpted fairways, TPC Boston has long been a favourite stop on the tour. Not only does the course test players with its risk-reward par 5s, but its lightning-fast greens also demand precision and strategy at every turn. As the championship gets underway, Fraser is right in the heart of the action, expertly guiding his player through one of New England’s most celebrated courses. Moreover, with each hole presenting a new challenge, the duo navigates TPC Boston’s legendary design, successfully blending skill, strategy, and experience.
Emily Pedersen got off to an impressive start at the FM Championship at TPC Boston. After the first round, she shot a 5-under-par 67, putting her in a tie for 5th place alongside notable players such as Nelly Korda, Minjee Lee, and Celine Boutier.  As the competition heats up, all eyes will be on Boston this week, where every hole could make a difference in the chase for the championship.
Good luck to Fraser and Emily!

After a week’s break, Fraser is back on the bag with the Event Caddie Cap. This week, he’s heading to Mississauga for the CPKC Women’s Canadian Open, where the LPGA’s top players will compete for the national championship.

The stage this year is the historic Mississaugua Golf & Country Club, a century-old gem along the Credit River. The course was shaped by legendary architects George Cumming, Donald Ross, and Stanley Thompson. Known for rolling terrain, tree-lined fairways, and newly renovated greens, it demands precision and patience, making it the perfect setting for Fraser to get back into the flow of championship golf.

Before the tournament, Fraser is taking a quick tourist stop at the majestic Niagara Falls — and yes, we’re definitely a little jealous!

An LPGA Highlight for Fraser – The Women’s US Open at Erin Hills Golf Club, Wisconsin

After sealing the Home Soil Hat-Trick last weekend, Fraser Riddler — along with the Event Caddie cap — is taking a well-earned breather before heading to Ontario, Canada for next week’s Canadian Open. We caught up with him during this short break to reflect on the LPGA season so far, from major championship moments to lion mascots in football shirts.

Major Memories & LPGA Season Highlights

For Fraser, the LPGA Majors are always a thrill. This year brought new stops, including the spectacular Erin Hills and the windswept Royal Porthcawl. But one memory stands out above the rest: “Seeing Emily play with confidence and contend at the Evian Championship was special,” he says.

A Caddie’s Favourite Turf

Erin Hills earns the top spot in Fraser’s personal rankings so far. “It was a tough setup — you had to be strategic on every shot. It was rare you could aim straight at the pin. You were always playing to sections and areas. It made you work very hard as a caddie,” he explains.

LET Golf Event Highlights

Caddie Fraser at the PIF London Championship

Fraser at the PIF London Championship at Centurion Golf Club

Our sponsored caddie Fraser, alongside the Event Caddie cap, has been on an impressive UK tour these last few weeks. He started in his homeland at the Scottish Women’s Open. Then he moved south to Wales for the Women’s Open. Now, he arrives in Hertfordshire, England, ready for the PIF London Championship.

The PIF London Championship tees off this weekend, August 8 to 10, at the picturesque Centurion Club in Hertfordshire. It is the only venue to have hosted the event every year since it began. Now in its fifth consecutive year at Centurion, the tournament is the third stop in the 2025 PIF Global Series. This series is a prestigious part of the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Boasting a $2 million prize purse and featuring both team and individual formats, the event attracts some of the world’s top female golfers. Competitors include Mimi Rhodes, Georgia Hall, and Celine Boutier.  Unfortunately, local favourite Charley Hull has withdrawn due to an ankle injury. However, she will still be present to meet and support fans.

The Centurion Club offers a stunning and strategic 18-hole layout blending woodland, rolling fairways, and dramatic elevation changes. Stretching over 7,000 yards with a par of 72, the course features more than 80 bunkers, multiple water hazards, and fast, undulating greens. Highlights include the scenic par-3 12th hole over water and the risk-reward par-5 18th, which finishes in front of the clubhouse.

Overall, the 2025 PIF London Championship promises three days of high-stakes drama, world-class shot-making, and a spectacular setting. It is one of the must-watch events on the women’s golf calendar.

Fraser travels from Scotland to Wales this weekend as the spotlight turns to Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. Notably, the historic course hosts the prestigious Women’s Open for the first time.

Set against the dramatic South Wales coastline, this historic links course offers a formidable test for the world’s best golfers. With that in mind, the sea is visible from every hole, combining stunning scenery with true championship challenge.

Golf course architects Harry Colt and Martin Ebert refined Royal Porthcawl after its original design in 1891. The course challenges even skilled players with fast, undulating greens, deep pot bunkers, and unpredictable coastal winds.  In particular, standout holes include the short, deceptive 8th and the dramatic closing 18th beside the clubhouse. Together, the challenging layout and breath-taking scenery create an unforgettable setting. As a result, the tournament promises world-class golf and a thrilling showcase of talent.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy a weekend packed with top-tier golf action. While you watch the pros at Augusta, read about how Event Caddie is helping to discover the next golf champion.

Justin Rose In Full Bloom! With A Masterful 65 At Augusta

Augusta National delivered its usual magic on day one of the 2025 Masters, but it was Justin Rose who stole the spotlight. With a vintage 7-under 65, the Englishman carved up the course with precision, claiming the solo lead and tying Jack Nicklaus for most first-round leads in tournament history. Hot on his heels, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Åberg, and Corey Conners sit three strokes back at 68, poised to strike. While swirling winds and scattered spring showers challenged the field, Rose’s calm command stood out. With legends chasing and the course ready to bite, the tournament heads into round two, and anticipation builds for what promises to be a compelling weekend of championship golf.
