A Festive Catch-Up with LPGA Caddie Had Trenfield
Let’s chat with LPGA caddie Had!
This week, Event Caddie HQ had the pleasure of welcoming Had Trenfield for a cup of coffee and a chat. During his visit, he shared his Christmas wishes. Had, a Worcestershire local, has been part of our extended caddie family for some time. Before he jets off for the start of the LPGA 2026 season, it was wonderful to catch up.
Had caddies on the LPGA Tour for Swedish star and 2025 US Open Champion Maja Stark, who is currently ranked 15th in the world in the Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings. Meanwhile, between tournaments, he’s taking a well-earned break at home—catching up on family, football, and the occasional festive treat. As an avid Aston Villa fan, he has also been keeping an eye on their season.
Had Trenfield’s Caddie Journey
Had’s path into professional golf was shaped by friendships and chance encounters. He became friends with PGA Tour caddie Terry Mundy, who introduced him to Kim Metraux, then playing on the Epson Tour. From there, Had’s journey to the LPGA unfolded—a career filled with travel, new cultures, and ever-changing challenges.
Why Had Loves Caddying
“What I love about caddying,” Had says, “is that every week is different. You’re in new countries, experiencing new cultures, and facing fresh challenges every day. No two tournaments are the same.”

Off the Course
Away from golf, Had is a qualified electrician, and when not reading greens or planning club selection, he enjoys following Aston Villa’s season and reminiscing about his favourite golf course, Muirfield.
Caddying may seem glamorous, but Had reminds us it’s the variety, unpredictability, and friendships that make it exciting. Each week brings new courses, cultures, and adventures.
We wish Had a Merry Christmas, a safe journey back to the LPGA Tour, and another successful season ahead.
